OVERVIEW
The Department of Medicine is one of the largest in PGIMER and Capital Hospital, which caters to the need of people from Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Khorda, Nayagarh, and Puri. It has 117 general beds, 20 cabin beds, 10 beds for infectious diseases and diarrhoea, and provisions for different epidemic diseases including dengue. It has a full-fledged, well-equipped ICU with 16 beds, with bedside dialysis and Echocardiogram facility.
The faculties in the department include 1 Professor, 2 Associate professors, 3 Assistant professors, and 4 Senior Residents. The department will enroll its first batch of 5 post-graduate students this year in 2022-2023. Academics and Research activities, including Seminars, Journal club, and Case presentations are being given utmost importance along with optimum patient care for the best education of our postgraduates.
